Lockheed T-33

The Lockheed T-33 was a jet trainer developed in 1948 by lengthening the fuselage of a Lockheed P-80, and adding a second seat. The trainers were used by the Air Force and the Navy to train fighter pilots. Cessna supplied the empennage assemblies for T-33s under a contract with Lockheed. T-33s were eventually replaced by the Cessna-built T-37 as the main trainers for military fighter pilots.
