Camps at Kansas Aviation Museum!

At the Kansas Aviation Museum, our summer camps offer a variety of exciting opportunities for kids to explore the world of aviation. From hands-on STEM experiments and aircraft building to interactive flight simulations and historic tours, our camps are designed to inspire curiosity and ignite a passion for aviation. Camp themes include manufacturing, aviation history, the science of flight, advanced technology like drones and GPS, and career readiness, providing something for every age and interest. With options for single-day sessions or full-week experiences, our camps are perfect for young innovators ready to learn, explore, and soar!

Check out our Spring Break Camp! | Aviation Discovery (March 17-21)

Learn the science and history of flight with hands on STEM experiments, flight simulations, and tours of historic planes. Campers will able to identify different types of aircraft, explain how a turbine engine works, list the four forces of flight, understand the aviation manufacturing process, and more. Register for the full week or just a day session so your camper can discover aviation!

Get ready for an unforgettable summer at the Kansas Aviation Museum! Our 2025 Aviation Camps offer hands-on learning and discovery for kids of all ages. Explore Wichita's legacy as the "Air Capital of the World," build STEM skills, and discover exciting career opportunities in aviation.

Camp Schedule & Themes:

🛠️ Manufacturing Camp Series:

  • Mini Manufacturer (Ages 6-8): June 9-13 & July 22-25
    Young innovators will explore tool-handling, problem-solving, and creativity through hands-on projects.
  • Junior Manufacturer (Ages 9-12): June 23-27
    Preteens will dive into aviation manufacturing with engineering challenges and STEM experiments.
  • Master Manufacturer (Ages 13-16): July 22-25
    Older students will design and create aircraft using 3D tools, tour facilities, and meet industry professionals.

📜 History Camp:

  • Air Legends (Ages 9-12): July 7-11
    Discover Wichita’s WWII aviation contributions through flight simulators, tours of historic aircraft, and hands-on experiments.

🌪️ Science of Flight Camp:

  • Aviation Discovery (Ages 6-10): July 14-18
    Explore the principles of flight with engaging STEM activities, simulations, and weather-related crafts.

🛰️ Technology Camp:

  • Aviation Detective (Ages 11-15): July 14-18
    Solve aviation mysteries using drones, GPS, and advanced technology while learning about safety and investigation processes.
